Double Whammy?

Dimarzio no longer makes this pickup (except as a special order) but I have the chance to pick one up fairly cheap. Does anyone know anything about this model? Output, tone, etc? I've never used one myself.

I think Vinnie Moore used it for the Time Odyssey CD and possibly even the Mind's Eye one too.

Any discontinued Dimarzio pickup is worth picking up. Especially if they are only offered as a special order.

You can still order any pup that DiMarzio's ever made. The Double Whammy has a lot of midrange with voice-like quality, almost sounds like a wah pedal stuck in the middle, according to an old catalog I have. The tone chart shows its treble a 5, mids at 9, bass at 4. DC resistance is 16.85k and output in millivolts is 330.
