Does Line6 make an AMP (no Pod,Xt, etc..) head or combo that has seamless patch switching like my G-Major does? Everytime I investigate this question I discover someone gripes that the latest model still isn't seamless.

    Re: Seamless 6

The only Line 6 amp that had a channel switching delay that was noticeable was the 1st generation Flextone and Spyders.
The Flextone II's were quick enough for me to never notice.
My bandmate did mention that his Vetta combo has a delay in channel switching. I haven't heard the delay 1st hand though.

Yes, I agree. I've owned a PodPro, Spider 1, and I still have an AX2. All had a bit of lag between patch changes. I've been wanting to replace my home AX2 but I'm cautious due to opinions.

i could tell a major switching delay on my flextone II HD when i was jumping across models, like going from a twin reverb to a soldano model. if i kept in within one amp, like varying degrees of gain on a marshall model, it was seamless.

i have not used any line 6 products newer than the flextone II, so i can't speak of their newer gear.
        GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

        and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

So it appears Line6 only works on the ccuracy of the tube amps they model and not the processing speed in which changes can be made. Well that blows. I guess I'll stick with my Ax2. It's paid for and does an OK job as home amp and backup live rig.

twisteramps pete would know better than i, but i thought i heard a mention of channel/patch switching delay control on the VETTA. like you can control the amount of delay between thw switching of channels/patches. but i'm not sure if this is true or not.

The POD XT has no delay that I could hear either.

                  Re: Seamless 6

I gigged with a vetta for 2 years, whatever delay existed was very minimal and less than many tube amps have. If you use the same amp and change effects within the patch they are instant and totally seamless.

                    Re: Seamless 6

With midi-automated motorized faders having been around for well over a decade, and with the Line6 gear being all digital, I'm shocked that lag is still present at all.
Perhaps if they treated it like high-speed programmable/motorized knob-turning rather than program stops and starts (which weigh down a processor), they would eliminate the lag entirely.

I mean, the core concept of modeling is EQ trickery, so if you've got a stack of EQs and adjust them all at light-speed to get a given sound rather than switching manually between each set (i.e. power off/on or bypass/engage), there would be zero delay.
