• Budget powered studio monitors w\ 1/4" inputs?

My Roland MA-8 active monitors didn't survive getting knocked off my desk a few months back, and I'm finally looking for replacements. My Behringer mixer and Echo Mia interface card both use 1/4" outputs, and I'm looking for powered monitors that I can use without adapters. The Rolands weren't great, but they were cheap and functional.

Is there something better in the $100 ballpark? I see Behringer, Edirol and M-Audio monitors in the same range, but few seem to match the features of the MA-8s for the same money. I can't justify the extra money to hit the $150+ mark when I'm just recording riffs to demo for my bandmates, so some of the nicer Rolands and KRKs are out of reach.

Get the Alesis M1 Active Mk2. You should be able to get them for about $400 new, and they're better than most $2k monitors.

They are worth every penny! If you're really on a budget, try scoring a used pair maybe..

    good luck,

Rune - those might be budget speakers but not in the 100 dollar range that Inazone was looking for

I almost did the same thing, I'd was going to say Event TR6's, they have 1/4 in, RCA and XLR inputs but they are about $400 too, not $100

Wow i mean yes those speakers are a good choice but i have compared them to my adams p33a and they aren't even near. They are good for what they are but that's it IMO. If you come into the territory of serious studio monitors alesis doesn't hold itself very well but that's ok pricewise.
