Carvin T100

Anyone own a new bling bling looking chrome model? Is it only costemically different from the classic black models? Anyone have one loaded with 6L6's? Besides wattage & vol, I wonder how a 6L6 version of the Carvin would stack up against my current VHT 2-90-2?

I think I remember an admin on the Carvin forum mentioning that they were very similar. The most major differences besides cosmetics were no XLR inputs and no op-amps used on the inputs (both regarding the newer TS100).

Its probably a cheaper way to make them. The ability to use 6L6's instead of EL34's is the main difference I believe.

An opamp, in simplified terms, is a solid state amplifier circuit built on a single IC chip. In the case of the old T100, if Carvin said it was on the input of the amp, it was probably being used as a buffer, and/or the phase inverter...
