• Boss ME 50 any opinions?

I'm thinking of picking one of these up tomorrow, I want stomp boxes not processing (otherwise I'd pick up a G major)
is this a good one? I'm looking for a simple way to get a delay, phase, chorus and a Wah, and this is cheaper than buying them seperately.
opinions please!
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

Well, considering the Boss GT-6 is the same thing with the addition of tons of amp modeling too I would go for the GT-6 instead. You can turn the modeling and the preamps off.
Especially since I have one listed in the classifieds with a Gator gig bag for it for $250.00 shipped!!!

Then this is the unit for you...Of course they are built like a tank too. I have had mine since they first came out and I just use the basic chorus+delay for leads through the loop. I just use the bypass switch on my amp bring it in and out.

The wah through the loop isn’t the greatest but, into the front it's good.

Noise suppressor works well too.

All you have to do with the GT-6 is push the manual button and it turns into a giant multifunction stomp box just like the ME-50.

With the GT8 you can use the 4 cable method, putting your amp's preamp into the effects loop, thus being able to place effects wherever you want to in the chain - wah out front, boost out front, delay in the loop after the preamp. Does the GT6 have an effects loop as well?

In that case I agree with John...That way (I think) you could use the 4 cable method to run the wah (and whatever else for that matter) into the front of the amp and the time based effects through the loop.

$250 is a smokin deal for a GT-6!

you beat me to it...I'm pretty sure the GT-6 does have a loop...But John can set that straight.

Yes, the GT-6 has a loop. The 4 cable method works. Putting the GT-6 in manual and turning off the preamps and cabinet modeling works too. The nice thing is you have a kick ass modeler too if you want to record or noodle or whatever. Its like having the best of both worlds.

yeah dude, the gt6 is light years better than the me-50.
plus at $250 shipped, i believe it is cheaper than a new me-50.
if you don't need any crazy effects, the gt6 is more than enough for most people.
i had a gt6 and never used half the features.
