EVH Phase 90

what do you guys think of these. i just bought one and love it. I actually like running it into the front of my amp better than the effects loop. It's not so profound going straight in. sounds pretty good too.

I had one and it is all the flanger anyone needs. I sold it cuz I was short on a trade in, but it is the flanger to have. Anything else is overkill.

If you are using modeling, then you have other reasons for having a differnet flanger. you did the right thing. This is the firsht EVH thing I bought and it is AWESOME! Script on Biznatch!

It's actually a phaser, not a flanger [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] This was the first effect I bought that I actually loved (I've bought and sold like 20 stomp boxes already). It was very thick and creamy sounding. I think it's all MXR pedals, I really do prefer em over BOSS. I never had a rig with an effects loop (will in a few weeks though), but in front of my amp is sounds awsome

Haven't tried one of those yet, but I do have a vintage block logo Phase 90 that was tweaked and true bypassed by Robert Keeley (and was formerly owned by Trace Reading of Man or Astroman). I love that pedal.

From what I understand the regular reissue MXR Phase 90 can be made to sound like the EVH with some very simple mods. Less expensive that way and also could avoid the whacky EVH paint job. Some may like that on a pedal, but it's not my thing.

I used to have the original MXR Phase 90
Don't know what happened to it over the years
If you wanted to sound like Eddie or Alex Lifeson
or anybody else who used the Phase 90 then this is the one

Ah well, still the EVH is overpriced, but everyone should have one -it's cool to A/B the block/script mode.
