If you want effects, then the Spider is good for home. It can sound like a Fender amp if you dial it in, use your imagination, and click your heels.

Yes, $150.00 is worth it. Its a nice amp with nice effects. The clean is typical Fender clean and the gain is certainly enough to do most types of metal. It looks nice too.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Another great practice combo amp is the Roland Cube 30.
I miss mine. I played that amp constantly at home. It always sounded great.

Get a Fender Pro Junior!!! It's one of the old tweed circuits on a PCB - 15 watts - it's actually enough to do a small gig with - I've played out with one. You can find them used for under $200 or so.

The key to the Pro Junior is to swap out the stock Jensen speaker - a Celestion Vintage 10 is great or one of the Weber's.

What 12" speaker would you use in a Blues Jr.? It's all original at the moment. I really don't play it enough. I have a G12M Greenback, and a pair of Vintage 30's.

On the Vintage 10's, I use a pair in one of my Marshall Micro Stacks that I power with tubes. They sound great with a tube amp, but not so good with the stock transistor Lead 12 head. The reverse is true as well (stock speakers sound like shit through a tube amp, but great with the Lead 12).

For the Blues Junior - I used a Weber Ceramic Blue Dog. I called Ted Weber up - he was great to talk to and he was right on for me. Just tell him what it sounds like and what you WANT it to sound like.

Pro Junior + 1 If you get the one with the blue Speaker they're fine.
