Right On, Man! You will not regret it.

Don't settle for "close enough". Not at this point in your life and ability. You need the best...get the best. Remember, a Decatone or HR is NOT an SLO...

      SLO100
      Matchless Spitfire
Bogner cabs ( I don't know which ones yet)
I might even spring for some of those fancy George L's cables! I'll keep my tuner and my wah along with 3 guitars.
2 to gig with and 1 to leave around the house.
The classifieds and Ebay listings will start this weekend or next week.

John - how much different is the T100 than the current TS100?

Not much difference. TS100 has a chrome face. The TS100 has a switch for 5881/EL34's. The T100 uses solid state pre drivers so it only had 2 preamp tubes for the phase inverters. The TS100 has an all tube signal path so it has 2 preamp tubes for each channel. The T100 has 1 preamp tube for each channel. It seems that most Carvin people prefer the T100 over the TS100 because it has a cleaner signal.
Both the T100 and the TS100 have presence knobs on each channel. I believe the TS100 has a few more output or input options too although I can't imagine needing more then what the T100 has on it. The T100 also has 2 bias trim pots installed in it and it can be converted to run 5881's (6L6's) because the later models came shipped that way. The earlier models like mine came stock with EL34's. If there is room between the tube sockets maybe even KT88's would fit. You can also run 2 different sets of tubes at the same time of course.

Well if you decide to move it keep me in mind as I may be interested in trying it out for my acoustic/synth/modeling rig. I'm fooling with a small rack for acoustics, MIDI guitar, and VG-8 so a clean warm tube amp into full range speakers is what I want to try. I have some nice JBL's and all the other stuff.

Well-I was kinda scared going from a 3 head (marshalls)and my bradshaw system-to-cae 3+se and vht 2150-it took about a week-2 weeks to dial it in-after that all I can say is amazing I was talking to martin at cae and he said I should have more bottom than I need-well I turned the eq section on and when the bass hit 7-10 it was all bass-it stays at 7-I just bought Tim's soldano sp-77 so it will be cool to check it out with the vht-I tell ya I think the vht is by far the best power amp for these preamps-on another note I put a bbe in (new model)and yep another couple of weeks and it sounded even better-I tried all kinds and the vht is the best-for me that is-I will give my opinion when I get the soldano wired up-to me you just have to work with it-walk away for awhile-and keep at it

Where are the pics? I'd like to see them. I didn't use the Soldano. I used my Boss GT6 and the Carvin power amp.
The gig went good. I'm still not happy with my sound but everybody said the guitar sound was excellent. I gave the SP77 another go this morning. Different cabinets, different tubes. As of right now... it sounds really friggin good. No more flubby bass. I also am running the Carvin mono 50w.
I am using it with a Mesa 3/4 back with 1 90w Black Shadow in it. I think I am really close to defining "my" tone because to my ears.. it sounds REALLY good.
