Which brand and model P/EQ do you guys reccomend for my first one? Do you run them in front or through the loop? I never owned one. Thanks-Jack.

I love my TC-1140, it 's a well known "ultimate" guitar rig EQ and have no need to look farther, my Furman PQ-3 sounds great, but is noisy.

They seem to be pleased with the rane units...

I've got a Furman PQ3 and I've never been able to get anything satisfying out of it. The amp sounds way better without it.

Al amps are different I guess. My Furman makes my CAE sound better just being in the loop turned off even. haha... Some weird buffering effect I think.

1). Huh? I'm unsure exactly what you just said. You bought the presonus? who told you "no way" and no way about what? and who was right?

2). How do you switch between the two preamps now?

Sorry someone else told me to return the presonus
you were right about the parametric eq's-in my opinion
I switch using the gcx chanel 6 loop audio in out to cae and then send to soldano of the loop when loop is off cae is active and when the loop is on the soldano is active

                Re: Good Parametric EQ\'s RULE

I can also run it in the loop as splitting the audio signal to both preamps-cae goes into in and soldano gose into send then take the out of the loop

I got my Rane PE17 a couple days ago. I haven't been able to crank it but at low volumes it is awesome!!!

I'm now shopping for another parametric for one of my other amps. The tweakability is awesome.

My 1140 seems to thin my sound out no matter what I do. My Proq seems to have a fatter sound, despite being digital. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Yes, and it worked fine. The problem with it for me is the fact that its not rack mount. The Rane seemed like the better deal for sure. I got it used for pretty cheap.

Yep, doing something wrong for sure. I've owned the Pro-Q and they sounded like ass to me. Too processed sounding. It's not a real PE-Q anyways.

My Rane is totally silent. Its designed for the studio so its a quality piece of equipment. I am going to get another one for sure for my other rig.
