you got the new one?

No, sorry I wasn't clear.. I have the same one that JG just bought... I liked the way it was setup with the cool larghe buttons. Till three quit working, then the diplay went haywire, and it would just reboot itself randomly. I treated it well too and bought it brand new, it was never dropped or abused, just used for a couple months gigging and had it's own roadcase etc...

I bought a MidiMate and life was grand... Been fine for 4-5 years...

Sadly, I have one of those Ground Controllers here on my shelf broken whjen you need parts. Bad issues switches and displays in them... DMC will fix them still though I do believe, I just never sent mine in for service...

The other DMC Control One Pro footcontroller is awesome but it sells new for around $600.00. I have seen them used for around $400.00. Thats more money than I would spend on a foot controller unless I was touring. I am only going to be using this rig 1 day a week for rehearsal or for gigs. I play my Carvin X60 or my GT-6 through my computer at home most of the time. I will be recording this weekend using the Soldano though and I will post some clips.

All Access is almost as good as CAE controller, I belive that Bradshaw designed All Access.

Will there be a difference where I put it in the chain?
Should I go:
Power amp--Effects Processor--Parametric EQ--Preamp--Guitar

That's exactly what "I" would recommend, and said that in this thread actually, haha...

You can always try other ways though, ya just never know what might sound better. THat way works for me tho.

Re: The G-Major is on the way!!

Let me know how you like the DMC Ground Control...I've been curious about that one.

I'm looking for a smaller footprint midi controller to be incorporated into a pedal board. The Behringer FCB1010 I have is huge. I've considered getting an Axess MFC5, but there are no controller outs on it in case I decide to get a controller pedal in the future. Does anyone know of any other small but rugged pedals? I need access to 3-5 presets. The smaller the better!

The Older DMCs, are riddled with issues. The new ones are pretty solid.

Get a Rocktron MidiMate, small, rugged, does a lot, has controller inputs. Great piece.

and yes, this thread is pretty much useless without clippage i'm really curious what the sp77 can do, and what not.

Comments:

I find the chorus effect on the G-Major pretty wimpy. I am running Mono, so maybe in stereo it would be better. But any Boss chorus pedal will kick the TC's tail in terms of a full, lush chorus.

They can be a bit of a pain to program as well.

Other than that, I like my G Major, although I have started switching to pedals since I got my all tube half-stack. I miss the programmability with the pedals, but I have enjoyed the "old school" feel/sound with my new setup.

My foot controller has an expression pedal on it, which you can map to effect parameters. I have mine mapped to the volume of the phaser; you can nail the intro to "Unchained" by rocking your foot on the pedal to mix in / mix out the phaser effect.

I have the MidiMate and agree that it's a great unit. It's the same size as the old Ground Control and has about the same functionality. I'm certain the original Ground Control had some batches, but most seem to be good. I think DMC had issues with suppliers on switches for a while and maybe on the LED display. I had one for several years (what I used when I had my SP-77 rig) and it never had a glitch.
