• G-Major Owners Manual ... I'm desperate!!!

I got my G-major yesterday. No owners manual. I can't figure out how to get the foot controller and the G-major programmed and I need to do it by tomorrow!! The TC Electronics downloadable G-Major owners manual link doesn't work. Does anybody have a manual saved on their computer that they can send me!!! [email protected]

Thanks!! John G

Neither of the above links are working for me. I keep getting the white page not available screen. JG

Also, try right clicking the links and DOWNLOAD the manual, then view it with the pdf viewer. Sometimes web browsers screw up viewing online PDF files.

I got it to work. One of my kids deleted Adobe from my system in the last few days. Thanks everybody. JG

Re: G-Major Owners Manual ... I\'m desperate!!!

I can't get this friggin thing to work even with the owners manual.
Everytime I modify a factory preset and save it, it prompts me to save it as a user preset. Not a problem. The problem is my midi controller will only call up the factory presets. I can toggle between factor and user on the parameter wheel on the G-major but I can't access them on my midi foot controller. I can't believe how friggin complicated this is. I also can't figure out how to assign a master boost switch that will boost any channel that I am currently on. Crap..

How do I acess the user presets from the foot controller???
As soon as I step on a button on the foot controller the G-Major goes back to factory presets. I have an important rehearsal tomorrow and as of right now... I am going to have to use my Boss GT-6 and leave my Soldano rig at home.
This sucks bigtime.

Well, the MIDI pedal itself will have to be programmed to call the particular presets. And yes, it's complex.

There is no "master boost" with a G-Major. You will have to take whatever preset/patches you are wanting to use for a boosted preset, and resave them as their own individual/separate "boost" patches with a raised volume setting on them. And call those up with the pedal.

These pedals are very programmable, and really are complex especially if you have never worked with MIDI controllers. I remember a steep learning curve and frustrated out a bit with the manuals for a while. And it's been so long since I programmed my stuff, I'd have to sit down with a manual again and learn it all over again.

John, I have a feeling this might be your best bet anyway. I know how you feel, but to rush through it tonight might make it more stressfull tomorrow. At least with the GT-6 you know what you have and how to use it.

As far as the G-major and midi controller go, I think it would be easier for you if you weren't under all this pressure. I feel bad. I shouldn't have sat on this all week. I could have let you take it earlier this week and you'd be all set.

You have to switch over to the user presets on the G-major itself I can't remember how thats done sitting here, but I would know if I were sitting in from of it. I can get together with you this week if you want. It really is not that bad once you get into it. Trust me.

Good luck tomorrow either way.

I don't have the foot controller but I too have found the G-Major to have a pretty steep learning curve...I'd say don't sweat trying to get it all figured out overnight but rather as you suggested use your Boss GT. Good luck

I am starting to get the hang of the G-Major. I needed to go into utilities and set the footswitch for user presets instead of factory presets. I have the basic stuff I need programmed in. The G-Major is everything everybody said it is. Its amazing.

Cool..I'm glad to hear you're getting the hang of it....that thing is capable of hair pulling until you sit down calmly w/it. I haven't messed w/ mine for so long that I bet I don't know how to use it anymore .....I typically just run dry

Did you get the manual? If not I'd be more than happy to send mine to you to use and copy if need be.
