Anyone ever try one? I have a beat on one and I heard a clip that sounds really good. I just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with it and what they thought.

Re: Madison Divinity Tube head
A local Colorado band is endorsed by Madison. Their recordings sound good but live they sound like ass. probably operator error, LOL
here they are on myspace http://www.myspace.com/themandrake1+2 = McGuirk, 2+4 = She's hot, 6-4 = Happy McGuirk

Re: Madison Divinity Tube head
I wrote to Madison about this head and asked them straight out where they were made and they said the parts were from everywhere, but they were assembled and checked in the USA. I wish I knew what was made where on these. If it is mostly made in China, they should be a $300 head, not like $800. I would love to get one, but the price worries me. Jack.

Re: Madison Divinity Tube head
I've wondered myself about the Madison. It sure is cool looking with that lit up red dagger on it.
I believe that the Madisons are made in the same plant as the B52s, because if you look closely at them, both amps have the same knobs, and look to be similarly constructed, especially the back panel. The back panel is identical on both. It probably has cheapo components inside that fail if you look at the the wrong way.

Re: Madison Divinity Tube head
By the way, here are some clips:

So what about a nice chugging rhythm? That's the important thing to me.

Re: Madison Divinity Tube head
I saw Aborted play live with a both guitarists running Madison Divinity heads. They sounded pretty heavy and aggressive, but didn't really blow me away. Their tone was pleasing, though. Sounded very Mesa Boogie ish.

Re: Madison Divinity Tube head
One of the guitarists in The Absence uses a Divinity. He has an endorsement with them. As the story goes, it got knocked off its cab the very first show of their tour, and although it still works, has acted and sounded "weird" ever since. They were going to get a replacement head to him at some point, but it hadn't happened yet.
Unless a person could score a sweet endorsement deal, I'd definitely compare these to the B-52 and Peavey Valve King heads instead of the higher-end stuff. I was pricing out a couple of cabs on eBay loaded with Madison speakers, and for the prices they were asking, there's no way they were anything other than Chinese.
Not that they're bad, but they're not high-end gear.

Re: Madison Divinity Tube head
There's about to be a whole slew of Chinese made tube amps hitting the market. Thanks to clever marketing and playing on peoples assumption that "Tube=High End", these cheap amps will be of great interest to players on a budget.

On a side note, the Chinese made Madison speakers are in fact very good units.

Re: Madison Divinity Tube head
Thanks for all the clips and input guys. I know it's a cheaper head and actually thats what is making me think about gettting one, but then again, I don't know. I know you get what you pay for. I think it's probably a good head for the money, but I'm just not sure. Part of me says to just hold on for a three channel dual rect. It's probably going to be double what the Madison is going for , but I know I like Mesa and I know what I'm getting. Stay tuned!"My G-Major can blow me!" - Bill
