• Marshall AVT Series

Does anyone have any experience with the Marhsall AVT series amps? I have been looking at aquiring a smaller practice amp and wondered if these were worth a look?

    Re: Marshall AVT Series

My cousin had the AVT 50 and recently upgraded to the 100. He likes the tones out of the 100 much better. He's a metal/rock/jazz player, and pretty serious about his tone. Sorry, but that's the best I can give ya. I can ask him bout both and get back to ya.

I had a AVT 50, and sent it back..just wasn't my thing. Sounded thin and lifeless to me.

i think they arn't bad. they have many sound options so you shouldn't have a problem finding a sound you like. they aren't tube amp. but they sound fine.

I had the AVT50 head, running it through a 1960A. It was simple to use and sounded very good, with nice Marshall tones.

Well I played a used AVT150 combo at GC a couple months ago and have to say it was the first Marshall I've ever played - that I liked! Maybe because I usually play at lower volume?

avt20 is a very solid amp (practice) very loud and very thick in tone.

Thanks everyone. I may just have to take a trip to guitar center too give one a test drive.

They are ok, a graphic EQ pedal is a good and cheap way of bringing them to life.
