  • Peavy Classic Power Amps

I'm thinking of picking up a Peavey Classic Series 60/60 power amp to team up with my Digitech 2101.
Its out of town so I have no way of tring it out before I buy.
I can get it for around $250 U.S.
What do you think of them? would it sound ok with a 2101?

As long as it's in in good condition, and not trashed.

They are decent cheap 6L6 power amps... I've seen them cheaper than 250, but they are certainly getting harder and harder to find...

Should sound fairly good for the money.

I used to own a Peavey Classic 120 power amp, and out of all the power amps I have owned, it was my favorite. Awesome power amps and looked over by allot of people. I actually liked it better than the Mesa Strategy 400 power amp I have....the Peavey doesnt seem to color the sound like the Mesa. Also, I own a 2101 and yes, it sounds great paired up with the Peavy.

The only thing that I really don't know if I'll like is,
that are no volume or presence controls.
Right now I'm using a Rocktron Velocity 120 SS power amp, think the Peavey would be better?
