• Marshall Distortion pedal (old)

Alright
Ive seen this old Marshall pedal in a second hand shop near me. its like £40 ($60) and its a Marshall 'Shred'-something
It looks old, and it looks like a channel footswitch, but Im pretty sure its a a fx pedal...
Anyone know about these?

Its a Shredmaster. They sell on Ebay for $180.00
Its a great classic pedal with a huge cult following. Very well made too. $60.00 is a very good price. Make sure the battery door is still on the bottom of it. They are next to impossible to find.
Btw.. its black and a fairly large stomp box.
Go get it.

+1 on what John said. don't sweat the battery door - that's what duct tape is for

Im actually going to pass on it. Im wanting a Metalzone cos of the fact I can adjust the mids frequency.

Well I went and bought it today and Im totally disappointed. Havnt had chance to try it on my amp yet but running it into my fx pedal on bypass (true bypass) and into a set of quality speakers it sounded crap. Fine for rock and what have you, but nowhere near enough gain or defintion or anything. Ive had a tweak and its straight back up for sale. Its got no battery door so that'll drop the price a bit. Ill stick it on Ebay. Might make back what Ive got in it...

Your in the minority James. The majority of the reviews on the Shredmaster are excellent. It has a cult following. The one that I owned had a ton of great Marshall voiced gain and was totally tweakable. You said you were running it with an FX pedal. What is your set up??

Unless those "quality speakers" were guitar cab speakers I would reserve judgement. Any distortion pedal running into a full-range amp and speakers is gonna sound like ass.

Re: Marshall Distortion pedal (old)

That could be why. Id had a bad day and was in a shitty mood
Ive never been a fan of the Marshall tone (the tones Id managed to get out of the several amps Ive played with).

Ive seen a Line 6 Uber pedal, and I think that will be more my style, so Im selling it.

I might have shit for brains, but at least I admit it!
