Last night at practice, a gear SNAFU resulted in my playing JCF member Kage's Fender Twin at rehearsal last night. I'm used to my Univalve and a Laney...he asked me after practice what I thought. I didn't have the wit to come up with this explanation at that moment, but it's true: The difference between the Twin and my usual amps was like the great briefs versus boxers debate!
To put it in more concete words, the Twin was a lot darker and spongier. It seems to have a much sharper attack, too. It wasn't a stern taskmaster like the Uni, which is always waiting for you to screw up so it can give you a sonic bollocking.
It was a good thing to do, though. Very educational.
