• EQ pedals and dropped tunings

Hark o Brethren of the Toothpaste Logo'd Guitar Brand Cult,

I'm looking for an EQ-pedal to put behind my TM-01 and I came up with the following dilemma. Since I tune my guitars to B, would it be advisable to use a bass EQ rather than a guitar EQ? I would like to know the pro's and cons of the both working with a B-tuned guitar. Thanks.

I don't know what a TM-01 is, but I use a MXR six-band in front of my Randall, and there isn't much of a drop-off bass-wise. You might want to look at a 10-band or such and look at what frequency the lowest slider/knob is for if it's a major concern for you.

Well i tune to B too so what i do it put a Boss SD-1 in front of my amp with the level whacked up, the gain off and tone around 12. This tightens up the low end quite a bit and gives more clarity. Adding more mids and a bit more presence helps too.
