so either this guy is completly dumb or just acting it. He emailed me and was like i was told this was a 2004 blah blah blah. I told him that no way and explained to him what it should be like. I asked him to refund my money and i am waiting to hear back from him. It usually takes a day as he is slow on responding.

Figures this would happen after you and I were talking to MikeStrat about this very thing....in the end I guess this is a chance you take. I would keep my contact with the guy and ebay and paypal and the credit card co. while trying to correspond w/ the guy. In the meantime definately call Bogner...it may turn out you have a prototype....and maybe even a very cool amp. Bear in mind I have one here about 30 miles from you for actual comparison and my door is always open if there is anything I can help out with.

If you could take pictures i would be very happy! Pay pal just finaly responded about the case so i am waiting to see what they want from me. I would assume Bogner doesnt open till about 12pm EST since they are on the westcoast so i am waiting to hear from them. I have a feeling it is gonna be a big fight since the guy already cleared the funds from his pay pal account. I cant file a claim with my credit card till the 15th as i have to wait till the statement comes out. So for now i am gonna let pay pal do there work.

You should ask him why the pics that he posted were completely different from what you got. I'm sure he has a wonderful answer for that.

You certainly didn't get what you paid for but who knows.... maybe you got something even better. If you could confirm with Bogner that it is indeed a prototype that might be a good thing. It still sucks to get hosed by a crooked Ebayer though.

I just got off the phone with them, i am gonna email them the pictures now. As to buying off ebay, i have done over 280 buys/sales and only once in a blue moon does a problem arise and that is usually because i ignore the warning signs. However everything has worked out so far.

And here is the reply from Bogner.
"This Amp was never a production Uberschall model, it was one of the prototypes built in 2001.This could be an amp which was damaged during shipping and salvaged, then sold by the UPS Insurance company as is. It must be as we only sold one of the prototypes and I remember that several years ago somebody called and said he bought this of the insurance.

What is the dudes name? I know a lot of the rock dudes in town from working at the radio station. I wonder if he is one of them. A prototype is cool...if that's what you are looking for....which you were not.

Well it was damaged no less by UPS shipping and bought cheap, yeah i might pay $900 for it, but not almost $1900. The guys name is MICHAEL THOMAS.

I think this amp was floating around H/C a year or two ago also... it was sold on ebay as a damaged amp though, and nobody would touch it with a 10 foot pole since bogner wouldn't fix it.
