Good product for cleaning Tolex?

Can anyone suggest a good cleaner for using on Tolex? I have a couple of amps and cabs with "garage funk" of various kinds that could use some help.

ArmorAll wipes are pretty decent, but they attract dust after you clean them - maybe Mr. Clean wipes??

I've got Armor All wipes around here someplace, so I'll start with those. No choice but to take my chances getting out to the garage in this weather.

Good old fashioned soapy water, or Windex and a toothbrush works well.

I would agree with Joe. Use a stiff bristle scrubbing brush or nail brush and a bucket of water with a small amount of dishsoap. I used to use Armor All type products, but they just make it feel greasy and yes, attract lots of dust.

I had a few Armor All wipes left, so I used them to give it a good once-over. I'll track down a brush and do a better job later. It's definitely an improvement already though...and dust is unavoidable around here.

Dust and cat hair, that is.

Yeah, cat hair sucks, especially on my carpeted Jackson 2x12s! [img]/images/graemlins/sick.gif[/img] The tape lint rolers work pretty good on them, though.

meguiars leather cleaner and an old washcloth. old toothbrush and windex for the stubborn stuff.
