  • 5150 cab/mic comparison

With all the 5150 talk last week and the fact that I have a 5150II on the way I thought it would be cool to post this. Here are some clips of a 5150 boosted with a tubescreamer through 5 different cab/speaker combos. The settings are the same on every clip and each one is recorded twice. One with a SM57 and one with an i5.

    Ah yes, Andy = God!

My favorite is still a tie between the i5 and 57 on the Boogie cab.

Mine too. But if you play the boogie clip and the marshall-gt75 clip together it sounds massive.

see i think my tastes are starting to change, i use to love V30's, everything was V30's, now i am preferring the 75's for some reason, maybe it is because those V30's are on almost every song you hear coming out these days and i am just tired of the same old sound. I just purchased a bogner uber cab that has both the V30's and the 75's, so i will see how that is.
