Hmm. Yeah I will defintely have to try it out, and see how I like it.

Reviews make it sound great; most claim better than the 'competition' (user reviews, not official Peavey testimonials or anything)

Well, I don't think I am gonna go with it.

I tried out a 4x10 model identical to it at Guitar Center today, it was too... something

For 300 bucks, hell no, for 200, probably. When the 4x10 costs 350 at GC, I'm not paying 300 for a 2x12 from a private owner which may or may not need work done to it (not saying the GC one wouldn't but I can go back and bitch and moan to get money back)

I'll save my pennies for another Marshall combo, maybe try a JCM800 this time around. (my dsl401 had serious case of lemon-itis form the factory.)

                        Re: white Marshall 2x12?

I had one, a 4x10, I had to sell my 30 Watt Artist Marshall mini stack since it was too big for my apartment. So, I bought the Peavey. It sucked and I was bummed.

Good for SRV tones though, I will give it that.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

The Classic 50s are pretty good if that is the tone you are looking for. Even though these are real close to a Classic 30 circuit wise, the 50s are much better. I do think that the older Classic 50s from when they didn't have an effects loop on them sound much better than the ones with an effects loop.
