• Different recording techniques. How's the tone?

Here's a short rhythm clip that I recorded this morning. What do you think of the tone? I used my Recto w/Traditional 4x12, Shure SM57 pointing right at the cone, into my PODXT Live using the "tube preamp" model (eq flat), into Cakewalk GT3. I'm trying to find a way to get a good tone at low volumes. I had the master on about 1.

sounds pretty good on my crappy work speakers. I'd say its a good low volume recorded tone

Thanks. I'm using the POD to boost the volume going into the computer. Even at that, I have to increase the clip about 30Db or so after the fact. Other than that, the clip is unprocessed. All Distortion is from my SD1 and amp, which was set to vintage voicing.

Sounds good on crappy laptop speakers as well

You can get louder Recorded volume by raising your POD's Channel Volume (or is it different on the XT?) and/or the Line In volume on your Windows Mixer/Recording Properties page.
