  • Soldano SP-77 after 3 weeks review

    Soldano SP77 USA model
    Carvin T-100 retubed with 5881's
    G-Major/DMC controller
    Rane SP15 Parametric EQ
    Shure rack mount wireless
    Morley Bad Horsie 2
    Mesa Boogie 1/2 back 4 x 12 cabinet
    Ibanez UV77BK, Ibanez RG7621, Ibanez S540, Ibanez RBM1

After 3 weeks I am still totally stoked. This is the best live guitar tone I have ever had. It is a pleasure to gig with this rig. The last gig I did was in NY and the other guitar player was using a 5150 stack. For all you 5150 players... its hard to keep pace with a Soldano in full throttle. I saw the internals on both. They both are made extremeley well. The Japanese model has 2 outputs which would be easier with a poweramp that doesn't have a stereo/mono input switch. I bought the USA model because I like the bold purple face. Most of the Japanese models have a much lighter color face.
Its an amazing tone machine. I do think the parametric EQ is a big part of helping shape my tone.
