• Van Zandt pickups

My PRS I recently acquired has a VZ pickup in the neck, stock HFS PRS pickup in the bridge. The VZ pickup sounds awesome - very fat, can get pinch harmonics and has a nice top end too. Not muddy sounding. Anyone else use these? I'm thinking about tossing the HFS and VZ'ing the bridge too.

      Re: Van Zandt pickups

I use VanZandt singles in all my guitars that have single coil routes. Blues model for neck/middle, rock model for bridge. They always make the guitars I put them in sound better. I haven't tried the hums before, but maybe I should?

I have vintage plus single coils in the neck/middle of a gutted Model 6. It sounds so good, I'm going to jerry rig another vintage plus in the bridge humbucker route and put in a five way switch. It'll look like shit, but who cares!

thanks for the info guys, has anyone compared these to the rio grande pickups? I'm in love with the "muy grande" for tele, they are killer.
