The Fireballs here go for $1200 new - not sure what they go for over there though. I have a 530 preamp too...and it is a good little preamp, especially for the cost. I'm only getting rid of it because I need the cash and I went back to 5150's.

They go for something near that over here, I think.
Take a look at rocksolidamps.com though.
They have a whole section of clips too.

There's a Fireball on eBay with a 900 BIN right now. I'd grab it if I had the cash.

You would probably be better off spending the extra $300 and and getting it brand new. That's what I would do. I would only buy something like an amp off of ebay, only if I was saving an huge chunk of change or I wasn't able to get it any other way.

If you get one from anywhere out of europe don't forget that you are going to have to pay 23% import tax on the amp and shipping, that adds quite a bit onto the price.

Sounds great music in manchester have good prices on engls.

Wow! I wasn't aware of that import tax. Damn.
And you have to pay that even if you buy it from a US dealer, and not through a dealer by you? Sorry if that is a stupid question. I never had to think about import taxes.

You only have to pay it if you are buying from a dealer not in europe.
If you buy from a dealer by you then no you don't have to pay any import tax.
A way of getting around it is to state that the value of the item is less than it actually is, but this means that the insurance will only cover this price which sucks.

Engl's arn't really that expensive over here compared to mesa's ect so your best bet is buying from your local dealer.

Isn't there also a voltage and physical power cord (plug) issue for amps built for european use?

I passed on an ENGL combo used, for under $200.00 US. I hadn't heard one before and my dumb-ass friend hated them and wouldn't translate for me at the shop when I first got to Japan.
