Re: Why 12\" Speakers?
When I was in college, an old guy who lived down the street who had a reconing shop. His prices were cheap and he'd make guitar speakers for me. He made me 2 15's I mounted in a crappy cab. My cab didn't hit as hard as a 4 X 12. I was bummed. So I asked him and he said, "It's all about how much air your throwing."
My 2 x 15 tight guitar speakers were 30" total. A 4 x 12 = (gotta make this somewhat fun)
So you get the picture. BUT, a couple 15's with more give, add to the throw. I can see 2 x 15 bass speakers in a guitar cab killing a 4 x 12 in lows. Anyone have a slide ruler?
