running 2 seperate amps thru 1 stereo cab?

I'm pretty sure this topic has come up before but I just wanted to be sure it was safe before trying it. I remember someone saying something about how it could fry the amps because the cab would have a common ground but I can't remember where I saw that.

I'm selling one of my cabs this weekend so occasionally I'd like to run both my amps through my Mesa cab in stereo mode when people come over to jam. So is this safe or not??

You can possibly cause a ground loop, but I doubt if it would cause any permanent damage, probably just a Buzz.

BTW, for a 4x12 to run stereo, one side won't share anything from the other side.
