tone wise no one will ever win in saying what sounds best-i have played all types of pod from my mates xt to noodling on a shops xt pro recently-and i noticed a BIG diference between the newer and the older models-its not just me who noticed the digital colour it now has,other musicians i respect who have PRO skills/gear and ears where not impressed with the Xts.I indeed read the story and funny enough i might even have the original mag somewhere round the house-i chose the pro over the standard kidney shaped ones for its more pro io's,mind you i am not an audio junky whatever that means
i have lots of preamps and guitars but i wouldnt call myself a junky
