• Mesa Boogie Quad pre amp

Anybody have experience with these? How do they sound? Can you get a decent rock/metal tone out of one?

I've been offered one in really good shape for $375.

I have no idea what these go for. Is that a good/decent deal?

From my understanding, average price is about 400-450, and it's the Mark III or IV's preamp structure. I'd grab it .

I had one. It's basically the preamp section from a Mark series. It's a lot like a 'big' version of a studio preamp. I personally prefer the Soldano SP77, and unless you can get a quad really cheap, I'd say get a Mesa Studio preamp if you can deal with only two channels.

The Soldano SP77 isn't nearly as versatile but it sounds alot better.
If you want a Quad you should look for a Carvin Quad X. They rock.
$375.00 for a Mesa Quad is a good deal.
