  • Beefing Up A JCM900

I got my Marshall JCM900 Head out of storage yesterday and want to get a beefier sound from channel A. At the moment I'm running an original Boss Super Overdrive through it. Channel B sounds great. I've been using my Korg AX1500G through a Marshall MG100DFX for a while but I want a less processed sound now. I would love to get a JMP1 pre amp but I just can't afford one. Can anyone recommend anything to beef it up a bit?
    Thanks

Maybe an E.Q pedal? also i use a THD hotplate with my 900, you can get the tubes working harder at lower volumes. Plus when you turn on both the treble and bass switches it really makes it sound huge whilst still having the mids in there.

I like the idea of that THD hotplate but can't afford one at the moment. Will try an EQ pedal and see if that helps.

I've got a JCM900 1960A 4X12 but have also just got an AVT112X 1X12 that I picked up for rehearsal use to save carrying the big cab about.
