As some of you may recall, the Jackson Apogee amps were designed for Jackson by a guy named Steve Mauriello. I have stayed in touch with him and decided to ask him what he knew about the various Jackson cabs. I assumed he just worked on the amp design, but as it turns out, the cabs with metal grills but WITHOUT Jackson-logo'd speakers (Celestions) were "his" too. The amps WITH Jackson logos on the speakers weren't his, but he told me that they are indeed Eminence speakers. We were only discussing 4x12 cabs, but I believe the same applies to the 2x12 cabs.
As a side note, he has been building custom amps since the Jackson gig, and will probably be launching full production in the fairly near future. He does a lot of high-gain stuff, so some of you might be interested in that when it happens.
