V-AMP PRO is under $200 and POD Pro XT is under $700. The $700 one has more adjustability of effects and adds stompbox models as well. The $200 one has less adjustability of effects and has no stompbox models. Both have similar connectivity. I personally prefer the model sounds (after tweaking) of the Behringer, believe it or not, so the under $200 one worked for me.

The Behringer V-Amp Pro really does sound good live, at home and in the studio. I know a guy who is in a VERY popular local band that uses one live. Inexpensive and sounds good. The POD PRO XT is much better but it is almost 3 times the price. If money isn't an object I suggest you look at the POD PRO XT and the Boss GT Pro.

Have you considered the X-Vamp? They're about $59 new, mine seems as programmable as anything, and it has footswitching built in.

The V-Amp sounds like absolute shit compared to the PODxt. No comparison.

I can't in good conscious recommend that POS.

Imo it's very easy to nail a good sound out of the v-amp pro.I sold mine last week and yesterday I received a pod xt.The pod xt can sound better than the v-amp and it's way more versatile,but it's much more expensive and it can sound like shit if you don't spend enough time tweak the shit out of it.

I've owned a V-Amp and own/have owned a bunch of Roland COSM based stuff and a bunch of Line 6 stuff. IMO, the V-Amp holds its own in that crowd. They all sound different and take slightly different approaches to doing things.

Myself, I got a PODxt Pro specifically for the stomp box models.

The V-Amp definately does the job and it's pretty straight farward. I have used mine for all it's applications and it has done a good job for all of them

The XTL just gives some more tweaking options but, like Mordor said, that can work agaist ya if you don't spend some time with it.

Oh,I would like to add something else, construction quality!V-amp is cheap but that's cos it has cheap parts,I hated its pots!A piece of crappy plastic with some soldering..

I've heard that V-Amp Pro has delays between patch switching when cabinet modeling is activated. Confirm / deny?
