• Help me...

I've always wanted a 5150, so today I was actually able to get my hands on one. It is a 6505+. The amp can only be described as face melting. The "rhythm" channel with out the crunch engaged isn't too bad a clean sound... I've heard worse. The "lead" channel is great... the distortion is fairly articulate, tight, and menacing (and that's with the gain on 5.5). Can you get a bad sound out of these? I doubt it. I will be using my Mesa Traditional 4x12.

I have a gig tonight, so I'll post a full review if anyone is interested.

I can't stop buying crap... I have a serious problem.

They can get a little buzzy w/ too much preamp gain, but loud with power tube distortion is "where it's at" for that amp. I'm told that changing the V1 preamp tube can improve the tone quite a bit from stock. Those amps need to be turned up loud to sound their best.

Put an OD infront and it'll get rid of the slight fuzz and buzz, and get way tighter.
