I'm going to have to try the SD-1 with the 5150 for the thrash band. I'm a bit tired / lazy / watching Masters Of Horror while browsing the forums, but what were your SD-1 / 5150 settings specifically?

depends on the sound i'm going for. for a classic thrash metal "marshall style but heavier" rhythm sound, it would be something along the lines of this:

sd1: level cranked, tone noon, gain just a tad above minimum
5150: hi input, rhythm channel with crunch engaged, bright disengaged, used for heavy rhythm sounds
gain 12:30
bass 13:00
mids 14:30
treble 11:30
master 11:00
resonance 13:00
presence 13:00
lead gain around 10:30, volume around 11:30, used as a lead boost
