Re: First Amp

Nice rig codex...I'm ordering a Savage in the next week or two as well. Is that a standard or vintage cab? I got my vintage cab a few weeks ago and I still can't get over how good it sounds.

          WOW

My first amp was a console stereo that actually had a guitar channel input (I'm dating myself- wait - that didn't sound right )

            Re: First Amp

That is an awesome amp. It sounds stellar with vintage and medium out put pick ups. If you're using emg's make sure you put an 85 in the bridge. I played an 81 thru that amp and it didn't sounds as full. My friend has one that he plays thru a vht fatbottom with this $100 epiphone explorer. He gets some of the best metal tones with those stock pick ups.

The sound that supposedly lowers your bowels is like 4 octaves below middle C. There's been some crazy research on it.

Once on the Discovery program "Brainiac" presented by Richard Hammond(top gear). They did a test with that brown noise/note.

My first amp was from Montgomery Ward. The speaker magnet was about the size of a silver dollar!

is it really 120 watts with only 2 power tubes?

they're 6550's, so they do put out more than EL34's, but 120 does seem like a lot..

Thanks dudes! I think that the amp is about 90W, theoreticly 120W is possible.
