Marshall Guvnor pedal??

Hey, I just learned that my bass player has a Marshall Guvnor pedal. Its been a real long time since I've played thru one of these, would it be good to use as a clean boost in front of a hi-gain amp a la Tube Screamer/Super Overdrive etc? I'm gonna try to use it in front of my singer's Crate Blue Voodoo to make it sound a little better. Has anyone tried this with a Guvnor? Its one of the newer metal ones, not the old black one.

They are nice pedals. It will either make the Blue Voodoo sound alot better or alot worse. Pedals tend to do that to certain amps. So.. to answer your questions... YES.
