• I've become a rack junkie again...

The rockman DG's are getting sold, replaced with a Kitty Hawk Quattro and an ADA MP1 I just picked up. It's likely the Kitty Hawk may go back out the door pretty quick. John, you listening? If I dig the ADA more than it. I got the footswitch with the ADA, so it was a pretty good deal. Started to just put together a small rack for around the house so I don't have to lug the JSX upstairs after every gig, and now I'm thinking about using a rack live

I'm listening Pete. Let me know what you intend to do regarding the Kitty Hawk. I am sure I can scrape up the cash or we can work out a trade for it.
Thanks bro... JG

I still love my Marshall rack!!!

It brought me years of joy and helped me improve my playing skills by being awesomely consistant..

instead of investing my time in tweaking like I did with every other set up I ever owned..it allowed me to spend that time PLAYING!!

I plug in and GO!

That valvestate helped break up a friendship with my best man and VH tribute bandmate tho..he used to run his JMP-1 into a Peavy 120/120...it sounded GREAT..I heard and felt him on stage..but he was sick of carrying it..so he replaced it with that..from then on ..he was completely inaudible on stage..I had to follow the drums and vocals and hoped for the best!

I told him that, he got mad and well..was a real baby about it..the whole band complained about it..but it was ME he was mad at!

ahhh fuggum!

It's pretty much for home use right now. If I made it more of a gig rig, I'd replace the power amp with a peavey or carvin most likely. This is just for grins and also as little weight as possible.

Pete, I am building a second small rack system for portability too.
Marshall 8004, Ross 31 band EQ, rack mount power strip all in a 4 rms soft road case. I'll use this rig to power my Boss GT-6. There is 1 extra space left so when I ditch the GT-6 I can throw in the Kitty Hawk or maybe an ADA MP1.
When I need to warm it up a little I have an ART Tube MP that I run in between the preamp and the poweramp. It really fools your ears into thinking your running a tube power amp.
Its not the most powerful rig but it will be light and it will get the job done for rehearsal and home noodling.

Man, these pieces are briging back memories of a not too distant past!

John and I used to use Rockman stuff..

we really liked their EQs at the time..we ran those Eqs in the loops of our Marshalls and 5150s about 15 years ago...they really did the trick!!

and I had a Rockman echo unit..sounded good!

One of the coolest delay units I ever had was a Bell unit..it was a 2 space..and baby blue..it had such a warm sound for a digital..

I had a Chandler stereo echo too..I really liked that too

Hey, does anyone else know about those Bell Delay units...I miss mine..anyway of posting a pic of one..

these delay units are SO old school nowadays..but damn they did sound good!

Ahhhhh I got dick on Ebay...Those Bell units will look lovely with those Rockman units..they are color coordinated!!

Which Valvestate power amp did he switch to? I've got a Valvestate Pro 120/120 that I fire up occasionally, but have never used live. I usually feed my JMP-1 into it.
