We all have pet peeves, even so, I got nothing but love for ya folks.
Correct my grammar if you may from time time, its fine with me.
Like many of us, I definitely don't always spell correctly or use proper punctuation or have an extended vocabulary to use the right word/s to explain or clarify myself, miss tapping the correct key and etc.
I"ll be the first to tell you I'm guilty as charged.
Have a good one.Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...
"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."
I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.
Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

One is a DK2, the other is an alder body Aria with a Kahler Killer 2700 series trem, rosewood FB. The DK2 has the HB102B. I bought a JB (TB4) and put it into the Aria - result? They sounded the same, so I sold the TB4. Now the Aria has a Screamin' Demon. It's fatter and chunkier, but it can squeal and has good harmonics. I will mention I tune this guitar down a 1/2 step, so it's fatter because of that as well.
Lets say the JB has more upper mids, and the SD more lower mids.

Okay..... Now I need HELP!!!!!
My buddy who LOVES screamin demons, wants me to make him a guitar that is going to be all mahog with ebony board... If demons don't sound good in mahog,... What should I try and convince him to put in it instead, and give the sound he's used to with demons in an alder body?
Thanks,
Postal!

The SD is a medium gain pickup. Its fantastic when used with a high gain amp because its a fairly clear pickup. Its great in a guitar with a single hum or a hum/sing config. In a 2 hum guitar you have to be careful what the other pickup is because of the output.
It goes fantastic with the SD Hot Rail.
Personally, I think it sounds very similar to the JB.

The mahog guitar I make, is going to be dual hum with a TOM bridge- probably Gotoh done as a stringthru, but a small chance of a fender "tech-tonic" wraparound TOM. - This thing HAS to be all mahog.
He has a Customshop warrior alder body/maple top with dual screaming demons he installed. I hadn't measured his, but one is probably a 'trembucker'. That guitar has a floyd, but he wants to go with a TOM for an angled neck, and quick string changes. He has high gain tube amps, and swears by the demons, and that is what he wants in the new guitar, but if they don't sound good... He might blame me! So I'm wondering what to recommend that are *like* demons, but work well in a mahog body.
Thanks everyone,

OK, according to the SD Tone Wizard http://www.seymourduncan.com/SDToneWizard/index.shtml
try a SH-11 Custom Custom or a SH-14 Custom 5"Quiet, numbskulls, I'm broadcasting!" -Moe Howard, "Micro-Phonies" (1945)

+1 on the custom custom
I also think the JB would be a good choice in a mahogany bodied guitar. I'm a bit mystified by the people who have claimed that the demon and JB are similar. I have had multiple examples of each in the same guitar and they really sound nothing alike. The JB has much, much more going on in the upper registers and not as much low/low mid thrust. The JB is also much hotter.
