For a little more you can get a Maxon 808 which is basically the same thing and you don't have to build it. The kit looks good. I wouldn't mind checking one out.

His boards are really good - the tube screamer clones with mods I've been building lately are from his boards.

If you aren't into building, just buy a stock TS9 or Maxon and mod it to taste. Scratch building (or building from a kit) takes a lot longer than you'd think, at least to do it right.
