I tried my 422a through my Triple Rectifier and it sucked, now my 5150 thats a different story. 5150 and 422 are like a match made in heaven.
+1
That is scripture in my book..I had both amps and that was also my discovery!!
I always said this..5150+matching cab+BBE422=greatness..that's my conviction, and I stick to it!

Beachjammer I used the Sonic Stomp with my Dual Rectifier and thought it was awful...in the front it didn't really make much noticible difference, and in the loop it made the amp sound like a big distortion pedal...
My Pecto Ruked when I shoved my BBE in it's loop...
waite, what I just say????

"I didn't think that it would be a good match for a Recto.....or excuse me....Pecto!! "

i'm sure ya know the *TRUE* meaning of "rectifier", do ya?
well, actually it's rooted way back to the latin word "rectum", i.e. ass, and "fire"....so ass-fire, really
well for me anywhoo , Me and Rectos just don't get along...some dudes do fine with them..I don't like 'em.
They get along with Jeff Loomis tho..and now he uses this BBE Stomp or at least the add says he does..cool to see him endorsing stuff..he da man!!

Just so you know Dan, we don't usually think someone's a company shill when they come in liking a product. The Krank amps have just not gotten that many good reviews, Krank HAS been known to send its shills onto forums in the past, and your writeups DO sound like sales pitches. So maybe you should get a job writing ad copy! But anyway, just explaining the background that leads to that impression. Other than that, no need to be jumpy about it, now you know why. Just relax and enjoy yourself here.
I'm not jumpy about it. Actually I was joking around. I thought that if I started talkng about BBE that someone would ask If I work there. I have been writing reviews on gear for a long time in Forums and I have my own style. I write up alot of home audio/video gear as thats one of my biggest hobbys. I'm into high end home theater gear and I'm also considered a wire nutcase. but thats another story.
LOL:ROTF: , give me more time to test out more stuff and I'll let you guys in on it. I got alot of Boss pedals coming my way not to mention I'm gonna do some serious testing on the Boss GT8. I so want a all in one pedal board. I liked the Vox tonelab but I wanna really get into the GT-8 and the Line 6 board. A friend at work just lent me a older Korg board modeler. I'm gonna play with that tonight. I'll do a write up on it.
well, i always thought the BBE units were designed for high gain applications. i never thought that one could improve the clean tone by using one
I thought the oposite, all the BBE units I ever owed sounded best on a clean setting and worse for the distorted tones.
I think the problem was that it thinkened certain freqences that I didn't like in the high gain modes but really made your clean sound thicker and clearer.
I used the rackmount models with a preamp and power amp setup tho, so I don't know what one would sound like in an amps FXs loop.
