Anyone use a Roland JC120???

I picked up a used one because it is always available at the gigs I do. I figured that owning one would make getting consistent tones with my Pod easier. The clear sound with chorus is to die for, I think and there is so much headroom that you can get really loud and still be crystal clean.

Anyone else use them, and if so, do you push any FX thru it?

I've used them in the past to demo guitars on. That's one amp that will truely let the guitar do the work.
I would LOVE to have one, but they are beyond my budget right now.
The only FX unit I've ever run through one was an ART SGX-LT and was awesome.

I've used them in the past for some jazz and studio stuff. I've never used any effects with them. The onboard distortion is pretty bad. For cleans they are really really nice amps. I've always wanted to pick one up but never got around to it. There is also a smaller version that sounds really nice also, I think it's a 2x10 instead of 2x12 but can't remember the model number. The onboard chorus iirc is basically a ce2.

Great clean channel, great chorus, lousy gain channel. My Boss GT-6 actually has a setting specifically for using it with a JC120. I never have.
I am pretty sure the JC120 is still a viable amp used by many pro's.

The JC-50 and JC-90 are the smaller ones.

The JC120 circuit is also in the Cube 30.

I love the old circuit 120's with the saw blade distortion. My favorite 80's UK bands used them. I did the the JC-77 with an original RAT for therash during the late 80's. They sounded killer.

+1. and its excellent. I couldn't tell the difference between the Cube 30 and the actual JC120. They sounded identical in every way.

Just pickup a JC120H at a pawn shop in Austin TX. last Dec.
Very rare head version of the JC120 2x12 combo, it has four speaker outputs, two labeled "Right" and two labeled "Left". Hook it up to a stereo
4x12 or better yet two 4x12 for the biggest clean chorus sound you ever heard!

There were a few odd variations, one with 410s I think. I had a jc77, I liked it with a ts-9. While it sounded pretty good, it wasn't very versatile.
Didn't the guy from 'the fixx' use a big wall of jc-120s?

Many bands used JC120's for their clean tone.
I never saw a JC120H. Sounds like a very cool amp head.

I think a lot of mimic "JC 120" patches fall short of the actual amp sound due to it's 15 inch speakers.

That head does look pretty cool, never seen one before. I had no idea the cube 30 had the same circuit either, a lot of people have posted positive things about that amp. Has anybody tried it through a bigger cab?
