  • Guitar Research Amps

Does anyone know anything about Guitar Research Amps.....I recently found one in a pawn shop...it used to be "red" (head and half stack) - but someone did a very bad job of painting it "black" and it can be had for a low price...?
    Are these amps any good?

I called Sam Ash and was told that these amps are made by the same company that makes Hughes & Ket.... amps...but usually these guys don't know what they are talking about or "speak with fork tongue" !
Can anyone tell me or give me a "comparison" for sound?
    Thanks.

Check that place out... Looks like they're priced real low from the reviews.

I thought Guitar Research stuff was made exclusive for Guitar Center, but I could be wrong.

        Nope, it's Sam Ash's brand.

Oh, okay. Thanks! I don't frequent either store, but I know I had seen them in one of the big chain stores around here awhile ago.

I read all the "harmony-central" reviews and have decided to go back to the pawnshow and see if it is still there ! Sounds like it could be a great amp and possibly a great deal !

Thanks again, I can always count on this forum to point me in the right direction.
