the vh 140 c was the successor to the ss 140c...i thought it was ok but they really screwed up the reverb on the vh's in my opinion...the heads can usually be found used for around 2-300 bucks...wish the ones i liked were as easy to find...lol...d.m.

I gigged with an SS140C for a few years. Probably one of the best sounding SS combos I ever owned. Killer gain and a clean channel that was outstanding. If I recall it had great reverb and stereo chorus too.
The lead channel has a ton of gain.

I have something specific in mind (with Boss SD-1), but I'm interested in your opinion in general. Thanx!
        Boris... the most important question:
        What amp are you using??

That's the thing, I think nobody here owns it. My preamp is Rocktron GAP1, I wanna boost it for recording or when I practise with my Marshall combo (until I buy some real power amp).
That's why I wanted to hear general opinion and I was always interested in this subject.
