Well, I just ordered an Avatar 2x12 Cab to run with both my new Witchdoctor Champ and the modeler setup. I went with the Special, which is a mix of a Vintage 30 and the G12H30. I figure it will be the best of both worlds and work well with both setups.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

I have been using an Avatar 2X12 for a couple of years now, and am very happy with it. I think i got mine with the Eminence Legend V12 and an Eminence Legend GB12.

For an inexpensive cab, it really seems to take a beating.

Cool, I have heard good things about them.

          Mike,

If would suggest JG's 8004 power amp + either:

          1. the Vox AD212 bottom, which has Celestion NeoDog speakers, and runs $450 w/free shipping; or

          2. an Avatar 2x12 bottom with Celestion Vintage Neodymium speakers (which are supposed to be the equivalent of the NeoDogs) - $433 shipped.

This should both sound good and provide for future growth opportunity, as you can always add a second 2x12 and run them spread apart, in stereo, and if you end up getting a tube power amp, you can always keep that SS power amp as a backup.

          Good luck!

One item I would confirm, though, is that either or both of these cabs can be run in mono or stereo (so you can run in stereo either with one cab or two).

I already bought JG's Marshall 8004 earlier today.

I also already bought the Avatar 2x12 loaded with one Vintage 30 and one G12H30 in mono, 8 ohms. This is going to be a mix & match thing. I am going to use the speakers and poweramp for both the modelers and to juice up my new Voodoo Witchdoctor VibroChamp. I just bought a Weber MicroMass attenuator which I am going to use basically as a compensated line out to run effects post amp and then into the power amp (see my other post). I can also run the internal speaker, dry, and the line out with wet effects added for an EVH style setup.

Wow, I need to stop spending now!!!
