  • need help wiring old loudspeaker

hey, my band recently aquired a large speaker enclosure that has speakers in it, but isnt wired up. the enclosure doesnt have much info as far as brand on it except it says PAS (professional audio something) not much info on the speakers either, but it has a large horn and a 15 inch sub with porting on the bottom, open back. we have been wanting to hook it up to something, but there are no plugs or even wires connecting the speakers. i hooked a wire from another speaker in an old amp i have to the sub and it worked well. just wondering how i should wire it up. im thinking just connecting speaker and horn together then running a 1/4" phone jack to the horn, will this work as a moniter/pa speaker? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.thnx

Is there a capacitor coming off the horn ? A crossover is ideal (Blocks the lows going to the horn and the highs going to the sub) but it is not necessary as the sub usually does a good job of blocking the highs all by itself but you defintely want to block the lows from going to your horn.
