  • line6 flextone I vs II ?

hey there, just a quickie....what's the difference between those two amps (as far as features go)? i *think* that the flextone I has only the 16 amp models of the original pod, whereas the flextone II is the updated pod 2.0 equivalent, but i'm not exactly sure
i wonder if the flextone I can be brought up to II specs?
the thing is that i might buy one for bedroom practice (so i don't fuck up my tubes by endless low volume playing), and right now there's a nice flextone I on ebay. apparently the only difference to the II is the missing wah, though?!

The Flextone 1 & 2 cannot be updated. With that said, the main difference is a few more amp models and cab sims on the 2. I actually preferred the 1 to the 2, but I definitely missed the Mesa Mark series amp model & the "Insane" model.

I've owned both amps. I personally preferred the 2 because of the extra models and cab simulator. That really brought the amp alive. If you could get a 1 though for a good price you'd probably still be happy. I thought both amps were great. The 1 does have a wah if you use the long board. It's actually the best sounding wah I've ever had The 2 also had built in direct outs where you could plug a mic chord straight in the back of it. It seems like it had a couple other options on the back that the 1 didn't have but I liked them both.

ah fuggit, stupid pc crapped out on me, just at the very moment the auction ended
but thank you for the info anyways

a band i'm friends with used to use both the flextone I and II heads live, the rhythm guitar playing using the I set to rectified, the lead guitar player using the II set to insane....i thought the rectified sounded better and less, well, insane pretty cool sound actually, but then again, we're talking groove death metal tuned to B, which is totally different from what my band is doing
