  • chucking everything for the Vetta

well after playing a Vetta in the store for 1/2 hr, I'm convinced.

I'm selling my whole amp/pedalboard rig. it's funny too, I had just bought a Marshall AVT50 and a bunch of pedals, and I love the amp, it sounds great, and has plenty of balls, but it just is no comparison to the Vetta. not even close. especially for the cleans and Fender sounds the Vetta can do. plus the Vetta has all the best Marshall tones, it's like trading one amp and 5 pedals for for 50 amps and all the pedals you can ever think of, plus the cabinet voicings available.

so I got a Vetta 1 combo (upgraded to 2.5) with the long pedalboard today on eBay, definitely the way to go cost-wise, glad I got that advice here. now I have to jones until it arrives. and I may have to be bugging John with questions now like all the other new Vetta owners.

no I've only seen Schenker 4 times and Malmsteen 7 times.

I have no idea what a REAL Marshall sounds like.

thx for your two cents though smartass.

I almost went the Flextone route but decided not to because it was just too much tweaking for me, and then there was all the behind-the-scenes stuff that had to be done on the computer through Line 6 software. I owned the AX212 for awhile and just couldn't get used to it. If I was going to buy anything by Line 6, I'd buy it new to ensure that I could get it replaced if it ever broke. All that computer technology is just asking for somthing to fry.

Congratz on the Vetta. I just brought mine home from the studio tonight. It was in New jersey for the last few months doing triple duty for recording, rehearsing and gigging. Flawless in every instance.
I brought it home to do some deep editing because the Vetta is one amp you DO NOT want to tweak at band rehearsal or at the gig!!!

Oh yea... I know what a real Marshall sounds like. I also know what a real Soldano sounds like, a real block letter 5150, a real Mesa Dual Rectifier and a real Mesa Stiletto. Its also nice to be able to a/b them with the Vetta. The Vetta never ceases to amaze me and everyone who hears it.

Yep.. there is a ton of tweaking and learning. I can't argue with that!!!

I ditched my Marshall Jubilee shortly after hearing the Marshall tones from my first Vetta. Does the Jubilee count as a real Marshall?

I'll fully admit I've never lived with a Marshall half stack, say, or any other high powered tube amp.

but when you hear the insane amount of tones the Vetta can do, and the two amps at once thing, and the sparkle of the cleans, and all those stomp boxes, etc, etc, it just seemed like the perfect amp for me. I just joined a couple cover bands and need all kinds of tones and textures, the Vetta is perfect.

                  Vetta

Well, for what it's worth I sold my 4K Tube rig with effects and went with another Vetta. (not because my Tube rig sounded bad, I was looking for more versatility but still maintain a killer sound)

This being the third Vetta I have owned the 2.5 upgrade made the world of a difference for me. Nothing can touch the versatility of this amp. It's easy to carry, walk in to the gig plug in and you're ready to go. Like John says, there's alot of tweaking but once you get the hang of it it's the balls!!

Man, I gotta try a Vetta!! If it can nail all of the other amps tones, it may sell me. Jack.

Prepare to be less than impressed with what you hear from them in a shop. But considering where you live I'm sure one of the Vetta owners in your area would be glad to let you take a test drive with one that's dialed in. It would be worth it even if you had to drive a few hours to get there.

Man, I'm starting to GAS for a Vetta something shocking, and threads like these aren't helping....they are pretty rare over here though on the used market.

+1. My bandmate went to the store with the intention of buying a Vetta. He checked out the floor model that was noodled with by every person who walked in. He hated it and bought a DSL100 instead.
I brought my Vetta over and he was blown away. He was convinced something was wrong with the one he checked out. I told him it was just not set up correctly.
Proper set up is a MUST when demo'ing a Vetta. Find somebody who has one and knows what they are doing. Then be prepared to sell most all your other amps. If I wasn't such an amp whore I would only have one amp. The Vetta.

Zeeg... its only computer nerds who are into the Vetta. You won't like it.
It sounds processed, fake, its not loud, its very unreliable, its frikkin expensive, the floorboard is a piece of crap (especially the longboard), the software version 2.5 is nothing but smoke and mirrors and its ugly.

Good thing I was looking for all those attributes.
