Oh yea... and another thing. At band rehearsal yesterday we were listening to some of the early trackes we recorded and came to the conclusion that the new guitar tracks recorded with the Vetta were so much better that we are going to go back and put some Vetta on them.
The older tracks were recorded with a combination of a 5150 and a 5150II. The newer tracks were recorded mainly with a DSL100 and the Vetta. I used a Soldano for many of the guitar fill tracks.
I can't wait to get my Stiletto back from the shop so I can record with it.
I think it will sound really good blended with a 5150 and a DSL100.

I'm selling my whole amp/pedalboard rig. it's funny too, I had just bought a Marshall AVT50 and a bunch of pedals, and I love the amp, it sounds great, and has plenty of balls, but it just is no comparison to the Vetta. not even close. especially for the cleans and Fender sounds the Vetta can do. plus the Vetta has all the best Marshall tones, it's like trading one amp and 5 pedals for for 50 amps and all the pedals you can ever think of, plus the cabinet voicings available.

so I got a Vetta 1 combo (upgraded to 2.5) with the long pedalboard today on eBay, definitely the way to go cost-wise, glad I got that advice here. now I have to jones until it arrives. and I may have to be bugging John with questions now like all the other new Vetta owners.
Wait tell you hook it up to your computer and you tweek it through Line 6 Edit. When I first started messing with that thing I thought to myself "Someone got it right." I got a PODXL Pro and I am thinking of selling all of it + GMajor and picking up a combo.

Hey John (and other Vetta owners) - would you be willing to post a few patches you've tweaked? I haven't gone to 2.5 yet but I'm dying to upload it and hear some new tones.

With all the great things I hear about the Vetta, I'm thinking of trying one out. I like my Flextone III, but I'm not very computer savvy.

I'm wondering, is the Flextone as in need of tweaking as the Vetta? If so, I'm going to need to find someone to guide me through it. I'm convinced I have not touched the full potential of the amp.

you just cant replace picking dynamics/ harmonic structures with a solid state amp. the vettas sound great at bedroom levels or for recording (anything at lower volumes) but turn em up and they tend to get brittle, IMO. also i think if you are going line 6 the hd147 is the ticket. its more plug and play. you will tweak all day long with the vetta and never play!
              IMO. they are reliable though.

If I was in a new gig that required me to sound like all of the recordings, I'd go Vetta. After all I've heard here about the Vetta, I think it's worthy of a trading in all your gear for one. Like the toothpaste ad said, "4 out of 5 dentists.." I gotta side with the knowledge and experience here. PLUS.. testimony from live players in working bands is priceless. IMO reviews from people who never leave their bedroom don't fulfill my requirements.

Vetta's don't get brittle when you turn them up. I do agree with your comment about the HD147.

It really sounded that good? I've always loved the Silver Jubilee even though I've never owned one. Probably my favorite Marshall of all time.

                            exactly.

that is why John's extensive reviews here of the Vetta tipped the scales for me personally. I don't know him but damn if he didn't present a convincing case and back it up every which way.

and when I demo'd it and kept being blown away by every patch and setting I tried, and at decently loud levels, that was it for me >>> conversion!

also, there is the fact that I didn't have all that great of a system anyway. I sounded OK before, but I was limited in what I could do with what I had.

the Vetta will be a huge upgrade in depth and quality of sound for me, as well as the many tones you can get. my bandmates will be thanking me soon. they have no idea how much better I'm going to be sounding.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

                              Swiss

If, for exmaple, I was in a retro-era band, the Vetta sounds like the ultimate Swiss Army knife for accurately covering 50 songs/50 guitarists/several amps. I prefer to play our covers with my own tone, so I stick with my tube equipment. You could say I'm taking a gun to the knife fight
