Gonna buy a Vetta, need opinions on what to get.

Ok its time for me to get a real amp. And Ive pretty much decided on a Vetta... its got all the versatility I need, and then some.

First, I cant decide between a Vetta I and a Vetta II. Vetta I's are cheaper, but what exactly are the differences between the two? Is it really worth it to go Vetta II?

Second, I cant decide to go with a combo or half stack. I like combos because theyre more mobile and easier to move around. On the other hand, I like stacks because theyre more powerful, and look great on stage. (not that I play on stage yet, but I plan to hopefully soon) The combos are definatley cheaper that a stack so thatll come into play too.

get a vetta 1 and upgrade it free to version 2.5. The only thing you will be missing is the vdi and variax ports. The vdi is for re-amping and the variax ports are great if you own a variax.
Get a head because the combo is one heavy mutha.

Go with a Vetta 1 .... the only differences are

different cabinet in the 2
updated software in the 2
VDI Card already in the 2

Cabinet is aesthetic
Sofware is easily updated for free
VDI card is only $99 if you need one..

VDI allows the variax to be digitally run in the amp and allows for digital outputs for recording and re-amping..

If you can swing it go with the head and get a 2 x 12

The nice thing about going with the head is you get the flexibilty of using both closed and open back cabs.. You can easily drop the power in 1/2 within the software ...

What else would ya like to know

I just got a Vetta I (already upgraded to the 2.5 software from the II) and the long floorboard on eBay last week for half of what they sell for new.

Im glad there arent much differences between the I and II, the I's tend to be cheaper and easier to find. I think Ill definately go with a head as well. Ive got my eye on on on the 'bay... 0 feedback seller who live about an hour and a half away from me. I messaged him to see if I could pick it up, but havent heard back yet... we'll see!

I kinda get the feeling that in order for reamping to work optimally, is for the track to be recorded clean.

I could be wrong... I'll let ya know in a few days when I have a chance to actually try it out.

My Vetta 1 is 200 watts. Its the loudest 200watts I have ever heard in my life. With the master volume on 4 and the channel volumes on 5 its loud enough to play a LARGE rock club without being mic'd.

Don't let the difference between 200w and 300w sway you at all. Most of the time I have to keep my Vetta on 1/2 power (100w). Even then... with the master volume on 5 I can play the largest of clubs with no problem.
At band practice with a live band that hits HARD I have have my Vetta on full power with the master volume on 3.
The only amp so far that I have owned that is louder than my 200w Vetta HD is a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier.

Vetta I and IIs are the same power rating (300 watts).

My Vetta HD says 200w on the back although Line 6 told me that it is actually 300 watts. It has the exact same power system as the HD147.

Line 6 re-evaulated the power amp section when the Vetta II came out. All vetta heads are the same, except mine. It goes to 11 !!!

well I got my upgraded Vetta I combo and longboard today, and it's fucking great. can't wait to bring it to our next practice and see their faces.

it's a heavy combo too - portable, but just barely. but I wanted the custom Celestions that come with it.

anyway, is it just me, or is the Users Manual written really poorly?
where do I find the directions on how to cut the power in half?
and since mine is upgraded to 2.5, it should have the various wah selections right?
where would I find those?
does the wah have a off/on kick switch underneath to activate it like my crybaby? I was hoping for a pedal movement activated wah.

anyway, WOW, this thing is all that and more.

I am also taking major shit from the wife for the purchase, kind of my meter on whether I've done the right thing or not. :ROTF:

200 watts 300 watts...Who cares, either one, Combo or Head it's plenty loud for any gig! I have a combo Vetta 1 and I don't even run my master above 10:00 O'clock.

The combo is 200 watts and the head is 300. I turned up my combo halfway while inside once and it almost destroyed our house!

Just hit the system setup button and the half-power option is there. I don't have a manual and haven't seen the need for one personally. I just play with it until I figure out what I'm looking for
