  • Which vetta should I get?

I thinking of picking up a Vetta 1. I currently have a nice 2x12 that's wired mono. I'm trying to decide between a vetta head, likely only running it mono or a combo.

The combo would be cool because I could use my 2x12 for some wide ass stereo/dual amp.

Which way should I go. Also, what are the current used rates? I'm seeing combos not selling on ebay for $750.

You can't really appreciate a Vetta until you run it in stereo. Split your 2 x 12 cab into stereo by adding another jack. Either that.. or get the combo. The only 2 downsides with using the combo are:
    Weight... its really heavy
open back design makes dialing in some tight heavy tones a pain in the ass.

i have also read somewhere that a guy had a issue with the combo at high volumes adjusting itself, not sure if he was a moron or what, just read that.

Thanks. The combo weight was my biggest concern too. I'm trying to find someone that makes a stereo/mono jack plate but am coming up empty.

the Vetta combo is 65 lbs.

          it's heavy, but not unmanagable.

Believe me... 65lbs is misleading. Its not as unmanagable as a 5150 combo but its still pretty heavy. Personally, I think the Vetta Combo is one hell of an amp! You could gig anywhere with one and if you add a cabinet... LOOK OUT!

Some of the Vetta's had very touchy pots and at high volumes the pot would actually move a little. If you have that problem just put a felt washer under the knob.

I would go with the head. I had a combo and like the flexibility of the head. I personally use G-Flex cabs !!

yeah, it's heavy, and my arms and back are feeling it, but a combo suited my needs better than the head and a cab, which I would not be able to fit in my car (3 series).

The combo is like 69 lbs. It's not bad to move short distances, but if you have a long way to go you will want help or something with wheels. I'm a fairly small guy and can move it without too many problems.

I have a B-52 cab, with a small port along the bottom back side, do you think it would make much of a difference in tone if I closed that up? I imagine it would tighten up the low end a little bit?

Doesnt sound flubby as it is, but the more clarity the better. Also, any of you use the Deity's Son model? I wasnt too keen on it at first, but after a bit of tweaking, its starting to really get my attention. Very tight sound, articulate, and heavy as hell.

The best high gain model in the Vetta IMHO is the new Soldano X88R preamp. There are so many great high gain amps in the Vettal Diety's Son is excellent. So is Spinal Puppet.

The X88R is my fav model on my 2.0 Pods, just killer.

Wait until you blend it with an Ubershall or a Rectifier!!
